Hell8 bloggs!

So we're still in Bundaberg (surprise!). We're currently working 6 days /week so unfortunately I don't do much else. After work I usually eat a light lunch like noodles and watch a movie. And maybe another movie. And then I take a shower and cook dinner. And watch a movie. I've watched SO many movies since I came here. And yesterday I finally found a place to stream Game of Thrones from! So yesterday i watched two episodes and I'm probably gonna watch two more tonight.

We got Saturday off last weekend because of terrible weather (storm!) So we went out with some hostel people. First we went to an outside bar which was a horrible choice because it was cold and the rain was just pouring. We ran there but you couldve thought i had just taken a shower with clothes on.. later on we went to a karaoke bar which was much better and I had a great night. Ended up falling a sleep on a couch at the hostel holding cheese and gravy chips. When I woke up some sneaky bastards had eaten it all!

Wasnt really with how my make up turned out.

Some hostel perps!

Now somebody's putting on a new movie. Toodles!

This is why our hands look like on a work day after washing them 5 times. Yummi.

Mega awesome avocado pasta we did yesterday. Roughly around $1.15 each!! Def gonna make again!!! Nothing beats the mushroom burgers we did the other day though. They were frikkin golden.

Our very beautiful room here in Bundaberg.

Today we finished our first week at the farm and I celebrated with a personal record, 13 buckets!! Good thing because there's a storm coming in so we'll probably not be able to work very much this weekend :'(

So today we finished day 5 on our tomato farm here in Bundaberg. As Olivia said (or did she? Can't remember) it's hard work, but so much better than our last farm work on the potato farm, I think. What bothers me the most, except for the lack of payment, is that my knees and my back start hurting very badly after a few hours. After the first day I could scarcely walk, and my big toe on my right foot has been numb ever since. Hopefully I will get stronger and it won't hurt as much, and if not, well.. I'll survive.

After working 7h there I'm super tired, and my top 3 hobbies is now buying food and comparing prices so we get the best deal possible (super savor!!), cooking food and watching movies/reading a book. Feels like I'm not really a hostel person haha, especially while working. But it's fun to always have someone to talk to at least.

Bad things that happened today: I only got 9 buckets done, and we got a flat tyre on the car :'(

Good things: Got 9 buckets done! (6 is enough to cover rent for the day), and we got a new tyre to the car!

Yes! We finally found farm work, so last wednesday we drove up to Bundaberg. We're working in a tomato farm, which would be a pretty good job if we could actually earn some money from it. We get paid 4.80 per bucket, and a bucket takes around 30min to fill. So the pays super bad. But still not worse than that summer when me and Emma worked at the kiosk on the golf court and had to split the pay. But back then I didnt have to pay for accomodation, food and gas.

Anyways, we work fron 6.30 to around midday (most often) so we have some spare time at least. Bundaberg is quite nice, 20min drive to the beach and stuff. Everyone at the hostels super nice so we've made some friends. Me and Emma are on a super tight food budget (both because we wanna try to save money but also because its kinda fun to try) and we've found this shop that sells locally produced vegetables and such, so today we went there and bought food for the whole week. It's pretty much vegetarian except for eggs. So far we've made veggie tacos, some kind of stew and mushroom burgers. Super much yum!

Me and Emma tried to go snorkeling but she saw a fish and got scared. Maybe next time!

Hugs!!!!

So wednesday we arrived to Brisbane! After accidently driving through the whole city we parked the car and checked in at the hostel. Not my fav hostel of all time but it's cheap as (20$/night!). We been doing some touristing including some sick animal encounters! Like feeding kangaroos, hugging koalas, cuddling snakes and so on. We even went to some kind of private showing of super venomous snakes! Super cool. Here's some pics.

So we've spent the last couple of days in Bryon bay, and I loved it! Such a relaxed place. The hostel was awesome too. Became friends with the two British guys in our room so we hung out with them, went to the beach and partied. Today we left for Brisbane, but we stopped at Surfers paradise where we are right now!
